Visiting the West

I'm traveling with a singing group for my school across the Northwest United States and Vancouver area of Canada. I've been enjoying all of the great picture opportunities and especially using my friend's DSLR. It's a Nikon D40 and so much more fun than my old digital. I've been out of here for a while, but trying to get back into things. I'm looking for any suggestions and critiques, so feel free to comment all you like. Thanks!
